Is your command of the alternative process such that the results from a given input are repeatable?

2. Use the negative to make a print with the alternative process.
3. Read densities of the print with the iOne and the Measuring software.
4. Apply the linearize numbers generated to the QTR digital negatiive profile.

Yes, I have very good control of the alternative process in question, carbon transfer. With reasonable care I am able to repeat density values of a print with a fairly high level of accuracy. I have also been making digital negatives for a very long time with my ownt QTR profiles, but linearizing with Gray_Curve.


Any idea on whether the work flow is OK?

Hi Sandy

You have the basic idea.
If you run the values through Linearize-Data there are two lines. Use the one labeled for negs. All it does is reverse the order from white to black -- no inversion of values.
The software does the inversions.

Yes, I have very good control of the alternative process in question, carbon transfer. With reasonable care I am able to repeat density values of a print with a fairly high level of accuracy. I have also been making digital negatives for a very long time with my ownt QTR profiles, but linearizing with Gray_Curve.

I think if you are running an up to date version of QTR it should cope with your numbers, you just put them in from smallest to largest. Anyway, this is what you get if you drop those numbers on QTR-Linearize-Data. Long time since I did this though, and I was on Microsfoft not apple. Great way of making digital negatives.
