Usable for that purpose is QTR Print Tool written by Roy but it is Mac only (where it is most urgent too). That has nothing to do with the Quadtone Rip. A better name referring to Mac and profile target printing could do wonders to reduce confusion. For Windows there are many alternatives for that job as long as you do not use an Adobe program. Qimage (Ultimate) is one of them. Picture Window Pro can do it too I guess. Quadtone Rip can not be used at all for color printing including target printing in color for color profiles. The real problem started when Apple decided that a foolproof use of ICC profiles was needed. For that they made it impossible to print unassigned targets through the print path of OS-X and forced Adobe + Epson to cope with that. Which Adobe addressed by making it impossible as well in its programs for both Mac and Windows ?-) With the promise that there would be a separate program coming that would aim at unassigned target printing only. Took months to appear and had the unforgivable flaw that it scaled the target at its own will. -- Met vriendelijke groet, Ernst Dinkla http://www.pigment-print.com/spectralplots/spectrumviz_1.htm December 2012: 500+ inkjet media paper white spectral plots.
