The problem is that the printer driver model on Macs is very different from that on Windows, and offers capabilities that the Windows printer drivers don't have. Qtrgui embeds an implementation of the same printer driver model that the Mac OS contaions (technically, it embeds a gutenprint driver) and ignores the Windows printer driver interface. Lightroom on the PC uses the Windows printer interface, and so won't work with the QTR code.
