RE: RE: 16x20 prints on Epson 3880: cut off

2013-11-25 by <kenlee333@...>

Thank you very much - the prints are truncated as though the paper were narrower, just as you describe.

Lifting the lid when the image starts to print, I notice that the paper does not appear to sit perfectly straight inside the printer, even though I make an effort to put it in straight and fit the guide bars snugly to the paper.

Is there a workaround for this ?

In what way are the images cropped - width, length, both? If it's purely in the width then I would suspect that the paper is not feeding perfectly straight. It is a known problem with the 3800/3880 that if the paper is slightly skewed the printer thinks the paper is narrower than it actually is. It will then print only part of the width - unfortunately without warning.

Using QTR on Windows 7 I am making some 16x20 prints on 17x22 paper using MIS Eboni inks. At random, the images are cropped so that only part of the image appears.

Is this a known problem ?
