There have been some issues with slight expansion or shrinking of images. I wouldn't think this would
be enough for sharpness difference but maybe. She should measure the exact print size to see if it's exactly 8".
It mostly has to do with custom paper sizes on Pro printers so it may explain it.
Anyway these issues should be fixed in the new version QTR 2.7.3 for the Mac. Although mostly for Mavericks
it would be best to upgrade to 2.7.3 -- especially if you print with both Epson driver and QTR driver.

She's using a 4800 with oem inks, a setup she's been using for years now. The same 8x8' image, always at 100% is soft in different degrees depending on page setup size (all large than 8x8 of course), and the behavior is consistent.
Additionally, the custom page setups she created are now grayed out. She could live with that, the sharpness problem is the issue, and that it varies with page size indicates a problem.
I should add, the same 8x8 image, before these problems arose, printed on the same setup sharper than anything she can get now at any page size.
