The R3000 has a manual front feed for DVDs, CDs and papers varying in thickness from 0.7 to 1.3 mm. Keep in mind that this printer has the ink cartridges separated from the print head, unlike, say, the R2400. The carts are connected to the print head via tubing, similar to the R38xx. Should you wish to change inks from OEM to, say, grayscale MIS or Cone inks, you’ll have to flush the lines completely and all together; ink channels cannot be flushed individually like on the R38xx. And the flushing process cannot be done easily on a Mac because the (third party) software to do this runs only on Windows. In my case this meant purchasing Parallels and Windows 7. If you are on a Mac, contact me for more info. Harry Lockwood hflockwood@verizon.net
