My digital negatives printed with the QTR Print Tool with the Epson R3000 are as smooth as I have ever made with either QTR or the Epson driver, so I am missing what you are seeing.
On the other hand, there is a problem at the top and bottom of the page in printing with QTR and the Epson R3000 that I have not experienced before with QTR and Epson printers. The result is that I consider the top and bottom 1.5" of a letter size page dead space and limit image size to a maximum height of about 8.5 inches. I have no understanding of the reason for this, but know that several other people who use QTR and the Epson R3000 have experienced it in printing digital negatives on letter size Pictrorico.
