I presume you can print without using QTR and have no banding.

I don't have an R800, but my guess is that you're not likely to have much
success using an EEM curve on Ep prem Semi Gloss. Unfortuanetely the
R800/1800 printers are not well supported by QTR (from a curve availability
viewpoint). You could try making your own curves if you have a scanner or
densitometer, or try asking on this list if there are other participants who
have made an curve for the R800 (or R1800) and a glossy paper.

If all else fails, try changing the shadow adjustment in qtr to alter the
ink flow and see what that does to your problem. Finally, reduce your image
size to half a page and use each sheet twice while you're experimenting.
