Re: QTR vs Qimage

2005-10-10 by cvdunton

Sorry, my fingers hit the wrong button and the message was posted long
before I intended.

To recap,
Qimage can be configured to output borderless TIFF files for use in
QTR. Here's how I do it. There may be a more efficient way, but after
a lot of experimentation, I've found that this works.

1)Start Qimage with whatever paper
2)Select File/Print_To/File
a)Enter Width and Height of the borderless print
    b)I use 720 PPI
c)select Format Files For:Printer and click OK
3)Select "Custom" under the print size area
a)Under "Sizing Method" select "Enter Specific Size"
b)Enter the Width and Height of the borderless print but
      do NOT press "Enter"
c)Instead, after entering W and H, select "Borderless" under
"Sizing Method" and click OK to close the dialogue

If everything worked properly you should see what looks like a
borderless page in the preview area and both the "Default Size" value
(located at top left) and the "Page" value (located just above
preview) should indicate the desired borderless print size.

To change to a different size, repeat steps 2 and 3 above.

And finally, turn OFF "Prtr ICC" in the "Print Processing" area to
prevent double profiling.

This will give you all the upsizing advantages of Qimage plus the
printing advantages of QTR.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
