Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: CMYK color separation to print in Black on clear film for positive

QTR simply does not have a color engine to do that kind of work. It is a Black and White RIP.

Enough detours exist to make the 4 and up color separations and then print the individual files in black ink only for screening or with more monochrome inks for continuous tones.

If it has to be a fast workflow then buy a color RIP, preferably one with Postscript interpretation, CMYK + RGB support and do the job in one go to an image setter rather than an inkjet printer. Interested in a Wasatch SoftRip license? Includes drivers for a wide variety of inkjet printers too.

Silkscreen printing is commercially a dying profession so I wouldn't recommend any software effort in that direction. Other conventional printing technologies have a hard time too. A 100x140cm 3/4 automat + drying tunnel idle here for near a year. Any interest to purchase it?

Hi Roy,
Thank you for coming for help.

If you couldnt understand my requirement, please take a minute to read the below description on "FilmMaker" RIP of Cadlink Corporation. It is just for informative purpose alone.
Yes, you are correct, it involves separating of CMYK channels in HALFTONE dot pattern, and get those 4 channels printed on clear film using an Epson Sylus printer in maximum Depth of BLACK, to be used to expose screen frames for silk screen printing.

Here, there must be provision for different sizes/ shapes and diff. angles and sharpness of dotes.
I dont know, how far QTR can deliver, but I am sure if you give a try to streamline these features too, so that you can get another set of customer base: CMYK halftone printing clients: they are in 10000s + !!
