Just adding the printer from the install script works fine if you are connected from USB, but I wanted to see exactly what happens if you try doing it with a bit of a custom set up, or if you have networked printers.
If you look near the top of terminal window after running the installation script says "Creating printer named: QuadP800 as Direct USB Printer", even if you are connected via ethernet.
This is maybe getting a little to complicated for most people who are just printing via USB, but I know I have banged my head against the wall in the past trying to get a networked printer to function properly, and the only way I could get it is by doing the following:
To use a networked printer you need to add the printer is system preferences using Bonjour and then name the printer what you will call it from the install script. In my example I added the P800 as a bonjour printer, and then named it QuadP800-MinorWhite. I selected the QuadToneRIP 2.7.7 Epson P800 as the software to print with and hit ok. Then I created a new folder in the applications/QuadToneRIP/Profiles called P800-MinorWhite, and moved and changed the name of the P800 install script to IntallP800-MinorWhite.command. Then I moved some profiles and ran the script. It created the printer and created the curves. If you don't add "quad" to the name in system prefs to Quadxxxx it will still create a new printer and load the curves, but it will add it as a USB printer and it will say it isn't connected when you actually go to print.
Other people might have different experiences and slightly different ways of going about this. What I did isn't too complicated, but I'd love to hear an easier way.
