Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Problem Installing A Profile Using QTR 2.7.7 & El Capitan (SIP Issue)

El Capitan has several new security features that can trip you up.

That is for sure. I have been working with Macs since the 1980s and the El Capitan upgrade has given me more headaches than I ever remember with any system. I upgraded to El Capitan before upgrading to QTR 2.7.7, and wound up having to spend several hours with permission issues. Essentially I was unable to install any new profiles with SIP enabled. I wound up having to reboot the OS in Recovery mode to disable SIV in order to change the permissions.

Eventually got all of the permission issues involved, then decided to upgrade to 2.7.7. OK, I am still trying to figure out how to open the .dmg file in El Capitan. I opened the .dmg on another machine with Yosemite and ported the file to the El Capitan machine and it installed OK. But when I go to Get Info there does not appear to be any Version number now attached to QTR.

My suggestion for those thinking of upgrading to El Capitan is wait until you have plenty of time on your hand because you are going to need a lot of it with all of the problems it may cause.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
