Notwithstanding the text in red, not every nozzle gap is a clog. It can be air, especially on desktop printers (noting that the OP has a 9900), and I have found purge patterns to be a more effective way of dealing with air. In such situations I have often found head cleans to make matters worse. If it is a genuine clog, then sooner or later a head clean will probably be required.

Do you have a reference or source for the comment that printing with a single missing nozzle? It's never happened here. In fact on the IJM forum, the comment has often been made that a single missing nozzle generally won't been seen in a print, so print away and the nozzle may clear itself. Which is certainly my experience.

This is not the recommended procedure for trying to unclog a printer.

Also, you don’t want to print a purge sheet if a single nozzle is out. It could permanently damage that nozzle.
