Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Experimenting with a P7000

If you want to make curves, have exact control etc. PS CS6 will not be good enough. Lack of
NoCM (Printer manges color does not do what you probably expect) and grayscale ICC profiling
makes it very hard to do what you want.

Try out Print-Tool for all the old, tried and true CM capabilities.

BTW, the multiple ink separation files correspond to how many inks the printer supports.
Looks like you found out to rename script to InstallP7000=7900.command
This connects to P7000 printer with 7900 driver.

I've got an SC-P7000 (LLK version) here for a while from Epson UK for a review and since I've not had a big Epson here for quite a while, thought I'd have a look at QTR printing (I've long used it to generate correction profiles for B&W print modes)

I noticed it mentioned here that you could alter the name of the installer, and it seems to have installed (OS X 10.10) and sees the printer on the network

Since it's over 10 years since I tried making any curves, I had to go back to the basics ;-)

Just printing the ink separation test page and I notice that there are now several versions, including one with 10 colours.

I'm printing from PS CS6. Printer manages colour, QTR Calibration Mode (ink limit 100), custom 610x330mm page size (fits my standard 3k patch A3+ icc profiling targets) Roll feed (cut) 2880 bidirectional

However I'm not getting much further - I've a (24") roll of enhanced matte in the printer, and for the 10 colour file I get green and orange strips (with a thin grey strip above), whilst for other images I'm getting a three inch blank strip of paper cut off.

Given I've a 100 foot roll of the enhanced matte and a full set of spare ink carts, I'd rather check it out on this paper before using up better papers ;-)

Any suggestions welcome - it would be nice to include using QTR in the B&W print side of the review.
