I think in win10 you can save the file without using the show curve button and avoid the system from hanging.

(On Android for a few days)

When you are in the curve creator module and open the qidf you just need to Click "show curve". That will initiate the create curve program and your .quad file will be in the correct quad printer folder and allow you to select it in the curve drop down print option. Unless you are on win10... In that case after you press show curve you need to wait a second for it to hang up, then close the QTRgui and then when you relaunch it should have installed the curves ok...

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
