There is a somewhat similar program for the Canon iPF series called True Black & White. I don’t believe it works with your model though. It’s also around $200 and has little or no support and a very small user base. http://www.trueblackandwhite.com <http://www.trueblackandwhite.com/> The iPF series also has a print plug-in that has a black and white mode that is similar to Epson’s ABW. I used an Epson 1400 for many years, and with MIS inks and QTR, I had great results. But the print head went down the hill, and as Epsons with gray inks are very expensive where I live (and I was fed up with the clogs...) I decided to go Canon and have it for color and BW. Got a PRO 100, which has black and two grays. For some strange reason, even when printing in bw mode it uses colors, with the predictable color cast. > > So this printer is calling for a RIP that can use only the black and gray inks, right? I know QTR is designed for Epsons only, so the questions are: Would it be to difficult to extend it to drive Canons? (Roy?). Any other apps that can do it? Can't seem to find one.... > > Happy printing! > > >
