Hi Sal,
As mentioned by others, the issue is using MK matte ink on the
glossy/photo paper. The builtin curves use the MK ink (Media Type does
not change this, nor does the ICC profile you pick)
I don't have any curves for PK ink but you might be OK just making a copy
of a existing curve, changing the MK to PK in a few places and running that.
Ideally they should be re-linearized but try as is.

Adding the fixative is what I ended up doing but I agree it's not a good solution.
Would you mind explaining how to add the GL curve? Is that in PS or in the printer driver QTR dialog? Am fairly new to all this!
