I suspect if you called Epson support, they would tell you that is the only way it should be done.

But, to make you feel better, take a very careful look at the first inch of your print. I\u2019ll bet that the manual fed one has more uniformity, and the \u201cdither\u201d pattern looks better in that first inch of printing; reason enough to use the rear feed.

It seems that when I use manual feed the 2200 doesn't have the problem. I guess I can live with that. I guess I'll have to.
