Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Location of .quad files on Win 7 PC
2017-01-18 by sanking@...
I assumed this was the way it should work. However, one of my former students reported that he was not able to install the Carbon-100 .txt file through the curve creator in the QTRGui. What he told me was this.
My friend is on a MAC computer and was able to load your Carbon 100 curve without any problem but I could never get it correct on my Windows PC. I kept getting a weird result for the Carbon 100 curve.
What we just discovered 2 items that cause my weird result.
On the text document that describes the curve, it does not show that Black Boost should be set to 100 in Curve Creator
Also, we did not realize that for Black Ink K – it should show 'Load Curve' and then “Curve”
Without these settings the resulting curve is not correct.
The Carbon 100 profile is quite simple and I always assumed it would install fine in Windows if one just loaded it in the QTRGui and ran the curve creator file. Could it be that he was not changing the extension from .txt to .qidf before opening the file? Or is that even necessary?
The .txt file in question is copied below.
