Viewing curves on Windows and Mac

2017-04-26 by dtrout@...

I'm a Windows 10 user of QTR with Piezography Pro inks.

I know that you can graph a curve and see the component inks in QTRGui by right-clicking the curve in the "Curve Setup" box and select "Show curve graph". However I've never been happy with the quality or usability of the resulting graph, and lately I've noticed that it is buggy anyway - sometimes a channel doesn't graph properly, the color legend for the inks is incorrect for the printer being used, etc. (I'm pretty sure the bugs come from the fact that QTRQui was not built to accommodate 10-ink printers, even though printing works just fine. So I don't think it is a Windows OS issue specifically.)

From what I've seen in various docs regarding QTR on the Mac, it appears there is a standalone "Curve Viewer" application. And from the screen shots, it appears to have a much higher quality and various interactive features as well, (ability to turn off selected inks, etc.). This is more what I'm after, but I'd like to have that on the Windows platform. And to be honest, having it standalone would be a bonus as well.

So has anyone attempted to build a Windows version of Curve Viewer, or something similar? I know some (most?) of you will just advise "get a Mac", but I'm sure there is no technical barrier that would prevent having a decent Windows curve viewer.
