Agree! That's what I do with the same set-up. Moreover I have three virtual machines running Win XP, 7 and 8.1.

My set-up is very similar to yours. I would recommend to check on what is necessary on the Mac side to run Virtual PC without too much laziness (always depending on the chosen OS on the Win side; XP works flawlessly)

I have a Mac but I definetely prefer building my profiles on the Windows platform. The best way for me to get the best of both worlds, was to install the Win OS on my Mac with an open source program called Virtualbox (have a look at this video to get an idea: http://bit.ly/1doVeTO) It can also be installed on Windows and you can run a virtual Mac OS, so it works both ways.
I have linked my virtual Win XP folders to my Mac OS and can simply save my QTR profiles made within Win QTRgui in my final Mac folder.
It takes a bit to set up, but offers a solution.
