Re: [QuadtoneRIP] Artisan 1430 w/QTR banding

2017-06-14 by Jacques Caron

Hi

Actually I'm not printing a border, I'm just used to print with at least 1 inch of white around the image. I find the look old fashion but fine. So when I'm printing on a 13x19 (Super B) sheet, the image is around 11x17 so plenty of "white space" to get rid of that banding fact.

Cheers

Hello Mr.Caron.. so you are saying that just having a border "fixes" the problem? Will have to try that next.

Thanks

Bernard

Got me interested! I just tried it too (but "presentation mat paper" since "plain paper" is not available…).

Mr.Wolf is right, a bit rough and contrastier than QTR. I'm loosing a bit of detail in the "lights" and a I'm loosing a bit more in the "blacks. But the printing process is faster than QTR (must be the bi-directional printing).

But for me, since I always print with a margin of one inch or more, the banding is not a problem; and I could add that Mr.Roark recommendation for this printer is "right on the button" For the price, this is a very good printer working great with Eb6 and QTR.

Happy printing

I did just try that setting and it is not bad but quit rough compared to QTR. It might be OK for test prints and then do the "walk around" with QTR for anything important.
