Yea no kidding. That's super scary. I thought they just resolved something by not resetting chips but replacing them each time on the 700 ml carts when they ran dry. If they are going to be blowing people's main boards they are in for some real lawsuits soon. Or they could be off shore. At any rate it doesn't seem like a smart strategy for selling ink. They also say the longevity is up to the oem standard and you know that is bull. Every third party color pigment I've seen was way behind oem longevity including the ones mixed into monochrome inks to neutralize them. They are using the cave paint brand name which was a replacement pigment created by Lyson over a decade ago. If Lyson is involved with this they better beware if these chips don't function as advertised.
