I think you are on Windows, right? Could you try both kinds of 2880 to see make sure the new one is
much slower that the old? That should verify that you are getting the new code enabled.

Does the P800 also have this micro-banding in the first and last ink problem? You'd think not, as it's the successor to the 3880 which didn't, but Roy's earlier comments cast doubt on this.
