RE: [QuadtoneRIP] Epson 1500W (1430 in the US) problem

2018-01-24 by Nigel Richards

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, it has recently had a new set of genuine Epson inks and also some generic inks in the last week to test the problem and avoid flushing expensive ink down to the waste pads. Still no improvement.

I used to overcome the 1500w QTR micro banding with strips of paper front and back held on with Low Tack Masking Tape and then a custom paper length, it works.

New Epson A3 printer announced in the UK Expression Photo HD XP-15000 it is on their web site – but a different Claria ink set.

 Cheers

Nigel

This can happen with old cartridges too (not just an old head).

I suggest this set of carts if you want to try one last time (we re-engineered these cartridges to work with old printers): http://shop.inkjetmall.com/Inkjetmall-ReUsable-cartridge-Epson-1400-1430-T79-only-version-Set-6.html

Ink leakage will show up at micro-banding in QTR . .

Best,
Walker

It works well, recently I have noticed a degradation of the yellow when printing colour, this shows up in a nozzle check as well. It looks like a leak of black ink into the yellow , If you print a purge document a couple of times it comes clean but next day it is the same again . This probably has been going on for a while as I used to get faint lines in solid yellow areas for maybe 6 months. Last year it did lie unused for 3 months while I was in New Zealand and Australia.
