Banding or Roller Marks on Digital Negatives with 3880 and Print Tool

2018-02-26 by faberryman@...

I am doing PtPd. I have run into a problem with making digital negatives with my Epson 3880 and QTR Print Tool (2880 unidirectional) and Pictorico, and was hoping this group with all of its experience can help me. Beginning about two weeks ago, I began getting marks that look like banding or roller marks. I have cleaned the rollers with an alcohol pad and didn't pick up any dirt or ink. I have done a power clean, a nozzle check and a head alignment and everything looks good. The printer is a year old (just out of warranty) and I have run about a 1000 prints through it. I use the manual front feed to avoid pizza wheels. I use a backing board to facilitate loading, but once the Pictorico is in place, I remove the board and load, so I am not printing a Pictorico-board sandwich. I don't get these marks when I run a regular print, just on digital negatives. I am out of ideas. Any suggestions? The image below is rotated 90 degrees from the way the negative comes out of the printer. Thanks in advance.
