The issue with 51-steps is that the measurement noise can introduce extra wiggles in the
correction curve (linearizing). I'd recommend the 21x4 which averages 4 samples of each patch.
On a Mac the Data-Tool program graphs the data so you can see excess wiggles and also
has a smooth function that can be used. This can work better for 51-step data.
