Banding...

2018-11-07 by ramesh_adkoli@...

I recently bought an EPSON P800 printer. I print black and white images using QTR on this. Yesterday I noticed banding in the shadow areas on a print. Bands (showing variations in tonality) were perpendicular to the direction of motion of print heads.

My Settings:

I printed on Epson Archival Matte paper. I used UCmk-EnhMatte-Neut as Curve 1 and rest of the curves as blank. Resolution is 1440 dpi, Unidirectional Speed and Matte Ink. Rest all defaults.

I did head alignment but to now avail. Nozzles are very clean as shown by nozzle check. Any idea what might be causing this? And how to resolve this?

BTW, I printed this image directly from PhotoShop. That print did not have such banding.

Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Ramesh
