Don,
The Canon Pro 1000 that the discussed inks are for uses pigment inks. It has a replaceable maintenance cart (ink overflow). The only major consideration is that it is very difficult to move after it has been given its initial ink charge. There are internal reservoirs that are emptied at great loss of ink if the charged printer is taken off of level.

Hello Myron,
Mike preceded my post here with a
recommendation for Precision Color inks and carts for the
Canon Pro 1000 printer (and Canon Pro
100). Jose Rodriguez's videos are very
educational, so much so I support him on Patreon with a
small donation every month.
I own both Epson and Canon printers
and I think Canon printers in the desktop sizes are better
made than the Epson machines. However there are some serious
draw backs to be aware of.
After the over flow cart becomes
full the printer is dead.
And of course the Canon's of
this ilk use dye inks which are more fugitive than the Epson
pigmented inks.
QTR
does not support non Epson printers.
The dye inks DO NOT work effectively
for making digital negatives for UV printing
processes.
BUT, for
the price of the printers after the rebates are thrown in
they are a great bargain when you couple their use with
Precision Color inks. Precision also builds color profiles
for several papers, and those profiles seem to be very very
good.
The B&W
prints made with the color dyes can be very neutral - these
printers make good general purpose proofing
machines.
My 2 cents ~
Regards,
Don
Bryant
