There's also an option that you may be offered that you want to watch out for. I don't recall the exact wording, but it's something like "Do you want your printer software [i.e. firmware] kept up-to-date automatically?" This seemingly innocuous question is actually a request to update the printer firmware and to be able to keep doing so. I seem to recall that an OS X update offered this option once, and led to cartridge lock-outs. If you ever see this offer, make sure you say ... NO!!!!!!!
