Very good results on a 9600, and what I like about it is the subtle toning capability. You need a paper with a good dmax like Innova S Cotton, etc. Roy's curves are great for the ultrachrome machines. Now I consider Piezzotone Quads a better solution for the highest end tonality, primarily in the very lightest values, especially with Studio Print, but your toning capability is severely limited, and I need that. The new K3 inksets are even better than UC and since I like variety in my monochrome I am very excited about this potential, especially on glossy. For glossy I'm sure this will be the way to go. I am about to try out the Piezzotone K6 next week and I am hopeful about this inkset as well. It's by all reports, the smoothest gradations of them all. john --- In QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com, l i s l e W a r n e r <bizroc@y...> wrote: > > Thanks John for that concise but comprehensive > response. > What are your results like of QTR with ultrachrome on > photorag 308g. > We currently use a Legion photo matte with the > piezography Museum/Selenium on a 4000 via studioprint > at another location. > > --- john dean <deanwork2003@y...> wrote: > > > I use qtr with a 9600 and have learned to achive > > really good results > > on good papers.
