QTR-Quadtone RIP

A newbie question (searches didn't turn up anything useful):

The UT inkset configured for QTR looks like a dream - both PK and MK
online. When I look at the available curves I see warm, neutral, cool
and sepia for the two blacks. Since I assume that paper
characteristics matter a lot, I presume that the images printed with
this inkset must have appropriate ICC profiles embedded (rather than
the generic gray matte and gray photo suggested by Roy for use with
curves that are specific to the printer / paper).

Any help appreciated.
