There have been some problems with the K6 cartridge labeling or ink loading. Straighten this out with Inkjetmall first. The labels can be confusing so double check that you have the right ink. Once that's done and the right ink is through the lines and into the head you shouldn't have that solarized looks. (if you are printing to flush the lines it takes a while). The xrite or pulse can be used to linearize but you may have to use their reading software rather than MeasureTool.
