Roy,
Some time ago I checked what driver functions with the 10000CF
and it seems the protocol is 9500 based. At least that doesn't
give error messages on the 10000CF, the calibration sheet goes
through without problems. With the 9600 the 10000 starts
printing but at 1/3 of the calibration sheet it gives a severe
error message with all leds blinking.
I suspect however that the 9500 data that goes to the 10000CF
is giving too much ink, at least the Dmax (still color inks in
that printer) per channel is reached at 25 - 30 % with 1.71 D.
With the Wasatch SoftRip I get that Dmax at approx 82% with a
similar linearising target. The LM is dripping off the
PhotoRag calibration target with QTR.
It could be that the 10000 doesn't get the right information
to use the 3 droplet sizes it is able to print, it could be
that that is handled in the printer itself and the inklimit is
just too high in the 9500 driver and the ramp to steep. Anyway
it would be better if the Dmax was reached at 70-90 %.
This 10000 has MIS 7600 inks and the Eboni black loaded. I
actually use the 10600 driver of the Wasatch SoftRip as that
should be more related to the MIS UC clone inks.
I can't load this 10000 with quad inks yet but like to have
some assurance that it can be driven by QTR later on. There's
another thing I'm a bit worried about and that is whether the
laser droplet control will work with a range of quad inks.
Any information will be appreciated.
