I need some guidance

2006-03-16 by Kemal Delic

Hello,

I need some guidance to improve my QTR curve creation.
I succeeded in making a nice, neutral tone, 21-step
tablet. I used K6 qidf file for the 7500 printer which
I changed to fit my R220 printer and inks.

Here are my MIS UT1 ink setup in the Curve Creator
with lot of guessing:

Printing Model - Quad 1200
Default Ink Limit - 70, Black Boost - 100

Ink Setup:

No Ink Limits

K - Gray Ink - 100
C - Gray Ink - 47
M - Toner - 6,6 Blue
Y - Gray Ink - 14
LC- Gray Ink - 32
LM- Toner2 - 3,4 Light blue

Gray Curve: 10 10 Gamma 1
Toner Curve: 10 10 Gamma 1
Toner Curve2: 10 10 Gamma 1

After the linearizing, I printed the final step
tablet. The tablet was flooded with the ink in the
100% area, it is neutral in tone, very even gradient.
Really, I am very proud that I, as a beginner, could
accomplish something like that. 50% density is 0,61,
but 100% is only 1,57. I don't like that, because,
when I printed through the QTR without the curve, I
got Dmax 1.68 on the same paper. I guess the toners
are diluting the ink in the 100% area. Your help here
would be very appreciated.

Best regards,
Kemal
