I have looked at the image you sent. It would appear that "Arcsoft" has not properly filled in two required TIFF parameters: XResolution and YResolution. These are the number of pixels per unit of the image width and length. The file you sent had these values set to zero. I will add a check in QTRgui to catch this error. Thanks for sending the file. -Stephen www.sbillard.org/Stephen -----Original Message----- From: QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com [mailto:QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of Donald Frederick Sent: Thursday, May 05, 2005 1:36 PM To: QuadtoneRIP@yahoogroups.com Subject: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Trouble Getting Started Stephen, I sent you the photo I was having trouble with to your direct email address. After reading your suggestions I realized the image was converted to greyscale and saved as a Tiff from a Jpg image in "Arcsoft" I tried again in photoshop and it works fine. Nice nuetral greys and Blacks. I then interpolated to 300dpi (from 72dpi)with Genuine Fractels and sharpened with a "NIK" plugin. It still works! Thanks for the clues, they set me straight.
