I would suggest that no software can write directly to the printer 
driver. It would need to have it's own driver to do that. 

You will have to make the changes separately. 

But I would like to see a button in QuadtoneRip which opens the 
driver software, (as in Qimage) to make the change.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
