QTR-Quadtone RIP

I'm having trouble printing with QTR on my Epson r1800 through the manual
feed in the back. The printer draws the paper in ok but, when QTR starts
printing it seems to search for the edge of the paper then immediately start
printing -- without positioning the paper to where the image is supposed to
start. the result is -- it starts printing off the edge of the paper ( and
leaves a huge border at the other end.) I don't have this problem with the
Epson driver. I also don't have any problem with the sheet feeder - just the
manual roll (rear).

 

Any ideas?
