Hi Roy,
I don't think it's a problem of the paper mechanism.
When I load paper, the printer pulls it in a few inches so that the the paper is parked under the printhead. When QTR starts printing, it backs the paper out so that the very edge of the paper is under the prinhead and starts printing at that point -- some of the ink going right off the paper. It's alignment is off by a couple of inches. I'm not having the problem with the epson driver.
thanks for your help,
Ian.
ps. QTR rocks. I'll be registering as soon as I can get the checkbook away from my wife :)

Someone else had this problem. I've been looking into it but so far
I haven't deciphered the magic sequence that the printer needs.
I think I can get use of a R1800 next week to try some more ideas.
I think most papers can be coaxed into the sheet feeder even if they
are a bit thick. Give the paper a slight nudge as it is fed by printer.
