I have experience with both with the R800 and I think we're talking
about the same situation, except that the R800 only goes up to A4/Letter
size.

First I tried QTR with the Epson inks. But I had usually used the MIS
Ultratone inks for b/w so I wanted to try carbon inks in the R800.

I ordered the Piezsography inks for b&w printing and printed out a few.

The Piezography is just fine, nice prints, nothing wrong with them at
all. But the original Epson inks and QTR can produce the same results in
addition to giving you the flexibility of toning (cold, neutral, warm
and percentages of various combinations).

So ... I'll probably stick to the Epson inks.
