X-Rite Pulse, Colorport and Curves for QTR on WinXP

2006-12-04 by colingruk

Hi,

I am relatively new to QTR, but recently bought the X-rite pulse for
coloour printer profiling.

W Schwolgin has posted HowTo create a 21-step target for XRITE Pulse
at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/files/ but I do not
know how to proceed from there.

I did not know which options to use when saving the measured printed
target Pulse_21_gray-cropped.tif in Photoshop in Colorport but chose
Lab. This gave me a text file of three columns the left of which ran
from 0 to 255 rather than 0 to 100. I gather I should have chosen
cgats, but I don't think that will make me much the wiser.

I am now at a loss and should greatly appreciate it if anyone could
give me a step by step guide to profiling my Epson 2100, using the
Epson 2200 driver and MIS MIS 7600 inks, with a range of papers.
Where do I start (and leave off) in Tom Moore's mini tutorial. My
flatbed scanner is on the blink and I would rather not buy another
one having just bought a film scanner. I read the post
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/QuadtoneRIP/message/2886 but am
none the wiser. Steve German, did you get anywhere? I really need a
dummy's guide! I am not as savvie as Julian jlk4410.

Any help will be appreciated. I am in no perticular hurry, but would
appreciate a step by step guide.

Cheers,

Colin
