2400 with K7. No amount of nozzle checking fixed it and just used ink
up at a terrible rate. I got some purging images from inkjetcarts.us
which showed which nozzle was the problem. They also have individual
color images that you can convert to grey scale and clean only one
nozzle at a time, using very little ink.As far as getting good results
in the ABW mode, perhaps the offending nozzle is not being used in your
prints. The Epson ABW uses a lot of colored ink in the printing as you
can see in the Paul Roark notes on the MIS site. Also, the refillable
2400 cartrides with the auto reset feature seem to be
working, available from inkjetcarts also. I am refilling with Media
Street inks which are for the most part O.K.,with the Magenta the
least good but within tolerance.I do not use their black
inks, preferring to stay with Epson paricularly since the PK has a
proprietary encapsulation for best results.I have two 2400's one of
which I use for K7,and the other for color and BW toning.
