Re: Color printing after installin quadtone rip on 2200

Uninstall/reinstall isn't needed with XP.

If I've been using QTR to simulate B&W and then I want to print
color, all I have to do is exit QTR, select my color file in
Photoshop, and the the system will automatically use the Epson
(color) driver.

My PC drives three printers: two 2200 and one Brother (for
correspondence). I instructed the system to default first to the
Brother because that's used constantly in my business.

To print photos I simply select one of the two 2200 (all three
printers are listed in the printer dialogue box). Both 2200
default to the Epson driver, but I can switch to QTR for either one
simply by selecting QTR for it.

One 2200 uses Epson pigment only , the other uses MIS UT-7 B&W ink
only. One is called "color" and the other is called "B&W" in the
printer dialogue box.

I happen to prefer the Epson driver for the B&W ink and the QTR
driver if I insist on using the color printer to simulate B&W. But
both printers default to the Epson driver, so I have to specifically
select QTR if that's what I want to use.

If Mac makes this difficult, you probably need two Macs :-)
