Calibrating

2007-05-04 by Pat

I'm trying to get a closer match between my monitor and a printed
image using QTR, a calibrated apple 23" HD cinema display and the
default curves for Epson Enhanced Matte. I've looked at the board, but
there's so much information it gets a little confusing. Plus I'm a
little new to the digital darkroom (wetguy).

My Settings
In PS view menu - Proof setup QTR-Gray Matte Paper
                  Proof Colors
edit menu - assign profile - QTR-Ray Matte Paper
Print with Preview
Document - (Profile: QTR-Gray Matte Paper)
      Color Handeling-Let Photoshop Determine Colors
      Printer Profile-QTR-Gray Matte Paper
Rendering - perceptual and Black Point Compensation
I'm using the QTR preset given in the tutorial using all 3 curves.

The image looks pretty nice, but as I said .... it's lacking a little
"punch" that is clearly visible on the monitor.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
