Hello all. I have an Epson R2400 printer, and I have specific printing needs that I'm considering a RIP for: I'd like to print onto transparency film, printing in black and white at 720 dpi output resolution. If possible, I'd like to use all black inks or close to it. On the R2400, I can print in the B/W mode, but it doesn't let me select 720 dpi output (I think the printer--or Epson--assumes that you want a higher resolution for printing, and I still don't think its all black inks that are used). Currently, the only way I can print at 720 dpi is to select 'plain paper' as media (there may be other choices), 'Fine' as print quality, and 'color controls' as the color management option. So, would the quadtone rip let me print at 720 dpi in black and white with my current Epson inks? And I just downloaded the quadtone program. Is it functional, even though I haven't yet paid for it--which I'll gladly do if its what I need? Best, David.
