Ralph Getting good B with the Epson standard inks is not easy! In
Europe Epson bundled some software called Gray Balancer with the 2100
incarnation of the printer. This was not available in the USA, although
I have read somewhere on a forum site that you can download the software
from Epson's Russian site, and use it with a Kodak greyscale. You can
read a good description of Gray Balancer in Vincent Oliver's review of
the 2100, on http://www.photo-i.co.uk/Reviews. In my 2100 I use MIS
Ultratone 7 inks - this is probably the easiest way to get good B.
