I've just installed QTR and Piezography on an Epson
2400 and have had no problems getting it to work.
It's judged better than my 4800 using ABW by other
photographers who tell me they can see subtle details
and differences.
You can often get good deals on Epson reconditioned
2400s on their website if you Google it that way.
Sometimes it doesn't show up there directly...?
I like this combination because you can (allegedly)
switch inks back and forth without flushing as well, a
major cost savings and you're not giving up a color
printer. Other than the printer, your investment is
about $200 for the b&w system including QTR and a set
of inks from B&H. It was prohibitively expensive to
convert my 4800 back and forth so I use it for color
and for Museo Silver Rag and Hahnemuhle Pearl.
