Robert,

I should have said that the curves show up after the .ppd file is updated followed by the 
application startup. So I think it goes more like this:  

Edit a profile -  Drop-Quad-Profile it (which creates the .quad and updates the .ppd) - Start 
your App - new curve available

OR

Add/delete a .quad from the drop box - Run-Install-Curves to update the .ppd - Start your 
App - new curve available

I guess the operating system loads the .ppd file once on application startup and holds onto 
it.  If the .ppd gets updated with a new curve or set of curves while the application is running 
the curves will appear at the next application startup.
