RE: [QuadtoneRIP] Re: Printer Suggestions

I would like to put in one more plug for the 3800. Certainly, if a person
uses roll paper extensively the 3800 is not the printer. I used my 2200 for
4 years and never had the roll feeder on it. I do occasionally print up to
30 inches in length by cutting paper to size from a roll and using a user
defined size.

I do the same with the 3800. You can define custom sizes up to 17" x 37".
It works fine, but only if you need the long prints occasionally.

Stan

I too would recommend the Epson R2400 for under 1,000 US. It prints up
to 13 inches wide and takes roles. You can use the standard inkset or
swap out for a quadtone/BW inkset.

The 3800 is more money, but I understand its a good deal because the
ink cartridges are so much bigger--and you can switch between photo
and matte blacks without swapping out and loosing ink--but it doesn't
take rolls.

Best, David.
