There is no such thing as "correct". Does it produce the result you
want? If so, then its "correct". The documentation gives a good
explanation of what the various settings do and don't do. 

If there was such a thing as "correct" settings, then there would not
be much use for this program. It gives the user fine control of the
output, and as a direct consequence, the user has to understand the
controls available.

Read the manual, try a few adjustments, and find out what works for
your setup and requirements.
